Meditation
Currently, enhancing physical fitness and overall levels of health in the United States is mostly influenced by two factors: exercise and food. However, focusing solely on these two aspects of physical well-being is an underestimation of what is required to live a healthy and fulfilling life.
This section of our site is dedicated to bringing attention to one aspect of fitness that is frequently overlooked: mental health, stability, and wellness. Just like the body, an individual's mental stability and well-being are prone to sickness and entropy. This being stated, mental health and wellness are just as vital as physical and dietary health.
As a result, in order to properly live a lifestyle that is full of good health and fitness, people must also focus on mental wellness.
Meditation is one method for achieving mental balance and wellness that may be used, and has been for thousands of years. While meditation may and is often practiced on its own, it can also be combined with other types of exercise such as Yoga and Pilates.

Origin of Meditation
Meditation has been documented as far back as 50,000 years. Originally, the activity was used as a religious rite in a variety of religions. Meditation is used in practically every major religion, from Hinduism to Christianity, in some form or another. However, the practice has found a home outside of the religious domain over time. This is most likely due to individuals being aware of the wide range of benefits that meditation may give, even if it has no religious connotations.
Despite the fact that meditation and yoga are closely related, meditation as a distinct and separate practice did not emerge until much later, around 5,000 years ago (actual recorded writings about Meditation). People have almost certainly been practicing some type of meditation since the dawn of time. You are technically employing meditation to calm and focus your mind whenever you take some time out to gather your thoughts or get some fresh air to clear your head.

Benefits of Meditation
Meditation has a wide range of physical and mental health advantages. Many people think of meditation as a way to train and enrich their minds as a standalone activity, while others like to think of it as a supplement to other pursuits. The following benefits (just a few of many) are extensively researched regardless of how you approach meditation:
Headaches: Meditation has been demonstrated to decrease or eliminate the pain of headaches and (sometimes) migraines. Long periods of inactivity may help you get rid of the discomfort or at the very least offer you a respite from it.
Meditation may be especially beneficial for people who are trying to reduce weight. Several studies have found that meditation is particularly useful in both maintaining optimum weight levels and regaining lost drive or attention.
Increased Lung Function: The deep and relaxing breaths associated with meditation are frequently effective in enhancing air flow and lung capacity. In only two weeks of consistent practice, meditation was able to boost lung capacity by 5%, according to a recent survey of wind musicians.
Memory Enhancement: Meditation has been demonstrated to improve memory in participants by calming the brain. Early trials have shown that combining meditation with prescription medicines can reduce or delay the onset of Alzheimer's disease.
Difficulty Solving: When dealing with a little problem or addressing an issue without resorting to more harsh methods that are unnecessary, meditation can be quite useful. This opportunity to consider things out thoroughly could spare you even more worry or troubles in the future.
